If you have ever wanted to share a video via your webcam, or don't have a webcam but want to use the webcam feature on your favorite IM/chat program, the Video2Webcam software works just dandy. The best aspect is its ability to play just about every video format you might have on your computer. Yes, you can run your "real" webcam through this software, and click back and forth between pre-recorded media and your live cam with split second ease.
The software installs quickly, easily and there are no "issues" with VISTA, if that's your operating system. They offer excellent customer support, and while this product doesn't have fancy bells and whistles, overlays, or screen capture special effects, it gets the job done with ease and quality.
If you want to record your video sessions on MSN, they also offer an MSN Recorder that works okay, but is not as versatile in recording/capturing as I would like. The ability to screen capture and do supers would be nice..perhaps it can be done, but I haven't figured it out yet.
Back to Basics: The Video2webcam program works fine, thank you. Oh, it is on sale right now and a big discount. That helps too. There is a "free version" but it has a watermark and certain limitations. Buy the real version -- it gives you customer support and free updates for the life of the universe or something.
