Listen live Saturday August 4th 2pm Pacific Time/5pm Eastern Time/10 pm London Time via Outlaw Radio (or the Backyard Party Radio Network -- just click on the cigar on the third row down.)
Crime Hottie Erin Moriarty returns to Outlaw Radio's TRUE CRIME UNCENSORED Saturday, and Burl Barer is so excited he can hardly contain himself.
"People may believe that CBS stands for Columbia Broadcast System," said Barer, "but I know the network's initials are in honor of 48 hrs' Erin Moriarty -- CBS stands for Crime Babe Supreme!"
CBS executives could, if they wanted to, point out that CBS was established in 1928, when founder William Paley purchased 16 independent radio stations and christened them the Columbia Broadcast System. That may be historical truth, but if television news has taught us anything in the past few years, it's that both "TRUTH" and "NEWS" are subject to redefination.
Moriarty is a true broadcast journalist, and knows that news consists of two things:
Information you have a need to know, and information you have a right to know.
The size of Kim Kardashian's posterior is not news, unless you are altering her slacks.
None of this matters much to Burl Barer, because TRUE CRIME UNCENSORED is not a news program. It is an hour long fun fest of verbal exploratory surgery with Edgar Award winner Barer, Razzie Award winner Howard Lapides (Executive Producer of all those Dr. Drew shows), and fact-checker Mark Boyer. As they say, "Three Jews, No Waiting."
Erin Moriarty is famous for more than a spectacular hair style, excellent cheek bones, and a ready wit.
Erin Moriarty has been a correspondent for "48 Hours" since 1990. She has covered the death of Princess Diana, the JonBenet Ramsey investigation, the murder of financier Edmund Safra, and the war in Iraq. Before that, Moriarty was the consumer correspondent for "CBS This Morning" (1986-90) and the "CBS Evening News with Dan Rather" in 1990.
Drawing on her training as an attorney, Moriarty has examined some of the most important social and legal issues of the day, including DNA testing of evidence in death-row cases, the abortion controversy and battered women's syndrome. She covered the Oklahoma City bombing, the Columbine High Schoolshootings and the 9/11 investigation, overseas. Her exclusive behind-the-scenes report on the defense of convicted Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh was broadcast on "60 Minutes" in 1997.
Join Burl Barer, Howard Lapides, Mark Boyer and Erin Moriarty this Saturday on TRUE CRIME UNCENSORED!
